A mission of Real Property Alliance is to make consumers aware of the state of the housing market, whether that’s in terms of sales or in ways public policy can boost taxes or make it otherwise hard to buy and sell property in Illinois.

So this week the Alliance is partnering with the Illinois Association of REALTORS® to provide housing statistics. You can find a wealth of information by going to our new page which has reports and forecasts.

The good news: The housing market was robust in July, both in terms of sales and median prices.

Of course, the inventory of homes for sale is still quite low, so if you’re looking for a home and find the one you want, you might want to make an offer quickly.

In the city of Chicago, it took about two months on average to sell a home, which is quite fast.
