For several years now Real Property Alliance has been making sure consumers know the dangers of Home Rule.

For the April 4 elections, the foundation is monitoring Home Rule ballot measures in Creve Coeur, Lynwood, Coal City and Ottawa.

Residents in these communities are being asked to vote on a measure which would take the power of having a direct say in property tax issues and instead place them in the hands of policymakers. The result could be higher taxers and more regulation, if not immediately, then years down the line.
