Chicago Public Schools CEO Forrest Claypool said many schools in the state could face not being able to open if a budget deal is not reached to fund education.

“Without a state education budget, I would say that most of the schools in the state won’t open,” he Claypool told WGN in Chicago.

Claypool had critical remarks about Gov. Bruce Rauner, who has so far stood opposed to any effort to fund out-of-whack budget proposals.

Of course, schools are a primary factor in making a decision as to where to live. So you can bet local parents are watching this debate closely.
