Ever want to move out to the country?

Apparently a lot of people are doing just that according to information from the Housing Assistance Council, which works to boost rural homeownership.

The organization looked at mortgage data and found:

Rural home purchase originations climbed by nearly 7 percent in 2014 year-over-year. Meanwhile, the overall national increase in home purchases increased 4 percent.

The good news: People are buying homes in rural areas, although still not at the rate before the recession. The less good news: The interest rates are higher for homebuyers, according to the data.
